For the fourth time Kcell has supported the VIII Republican Students Competition in “Management”, “Marketing”, “State and local governance”, which was held in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Competition engaged 119 students from 15 universities and 8 cities of Kazakhstan.
As usual, members have showed an unprecedented creativity, surged ideas and ways to implement projects that they defended in three areas – marketing, management, state and local governance. One of the main requirements of the Competition was to present a project that could be implemented in today’s market and with a view to people’s needs. It turned out that the students are interested in food production, quick-profit businesses and projects addressing social problems.
Thus, the winner in the “Management” category was the KazNU team – “Farabiki”. Members want to create their own small agency to provide advertising services… on bicycle wheels. The owners of the bikes would be ordinary inhabitants of the cities that often move in this manner and can combine healthy activity with a nice bonus of making money. There will be a GPS sensor attached to each bike connected to a mobile application. The app will calculate kilometers traveled and total points. Later, the bike owner will be able to exchange the points for cash at the rate of 40 tenge per 1km. According to the students’ estimates, on average, one person can earn 10 thousand tenge per week. Company-customers of the “cycling” advertising agency will in return receive a traveling advertisement for the price that is much lower than traditional outdoor advertising.
Another interesting presentation in this section was the students’ project of the International IT-University – “Dr.Copter Medical air drone”. The team called “IT-Generation” proposed to establish a company that will assemble unmanned aircrafts to provide medical care in cases where prompt arrival of medical unit is impossible. For example, where an ambulance cannot get to the injured person, or in the case of emergency, Dr.Copter can be sent with medicines, bandages and other medical supplies, with up to 7 kg and at a distance of 10 km at any time in need. For night flights the copter is equipped with a thermal imaging camera. To implement the project the team will need 10 million tenge, 3 million of which they have collected from their own funds.
In the marketing section there were also some unusual ideas presented for implementation. “Nemereshki” team of MAB want to launch for sale gelatinous broth on the market of Kazakhstan and “Corpus A” team of Gumilyov ENU had placed a bet on a project for the production of dry ageing marble beef. The winner of the competition was the “Dream Team” from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with their “MegVita” project. As a result, it became clear that marketing students are interested in the organization of marketing campaigns in HoReCa.
The future specialists in the field of state and local governance had paid their attention to the problems in the field of electricity, community management and agro-industrial complex. For example, KazNAU students suggested the creation of a unified system of advisory services for the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan in order to improve the information awareness of this profile organizations, and students from Aktau from Sh.Esenov Caspian State University of Engineering and Technology were concerned about socialization of children from orphanages, or rather about challenges they face after they graduate from such institutions. The victorious first place again went to the team from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for the project on the formation of knowledge-based society and effective management methods thereof.
“Our Kcell Academy educational project has been supporting various students’ projects for six years now, such as the VIII Republican Student Competition in marketing, management and state governance. It is important to take part in supporting such activities in order to be aware of the problems that concern the students and to give young people a chance to speak and to identify social problems and propose solutions. We aim to contribute to the effective education of young people, to be a part of their progress as we are willing to recruit talented students with fresh ideas and a desire to change society and business for the better”, – commented Natalia Eskova, Corporate Communications Department Manager of “Kcell” JSC.
