Kcell installed 3G and 4G \/ LTE – enabled cell towers near Bukhtarma reservoir. Internet coverage extends to all major recreation centers. Therefore, the company’s subscribers will be able to use high-speed mobile Internet there in the summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 6 new towers installed there. The fourth generation Internet became available in the vicinity of the \u201cBlue Bay\u201d and \u201cAina\u201d recreation bases. Internet of the third generation can be used near recreation centers \u201cMohnatka\u201d, \u201cAyuda\u201d and in the Novaya Bukhtarma village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The process of mobile Internet covering in this region is different in its specifics. Mountainous terrain without roads and paths made it much more difficult for us. In order to install one cell tower, our specialists had to manually lift all necessary materials up to the mountains. For example, weight of a single accumulator battery for a tower is 40 kg, while the tower needs eight such batteries. In addition to the station part, we also delivered construction materials for preparation of foundation – cement, sand, gravel, water”, said Dinara Baiskakova, Head of the branch of the Kell JSC in Ust-Kamenogorsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bukhtarma reservoir is the largest in Kazakhstan and is one of the five largest artificial reservoirs in the world. This is the second most popular resort in the East Kazakhstan region after Alakol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flow of tourists to Bukhtarma reservoir in 2017 exceeded 64 thousand people*, which is 41% more than in 2016. The reservoir itself and the recreation centers located on its bank are popular both among citizens of Kazakhstan and among Russians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We continue working on expanding the coverage of mobile Internet with a priority of 4G \/ LTE. Since the launch of the fourth generation network, our company has provided coverage in 24 cities and towns, where more than 50% of Kazakhstan people live. Last year in the East Kazakhstan oblast, residents of Ridder, Zyryanovsk and Shemonaikha got access to high-speed 4G Internet. This year the company plans to launch 4G in Ayagoz. We are glad that in the tourist season of this year we managed to provide one of the most famous and popular holiday resorts for Kazakhstan people and guests of our country with mobile Internet. The flow of tourists to Bukhtarma reservoir grows every year, which is not surprising, because East Kazakhstan is famous for its natural landscapes.
