The Closing ceremony of the Student Football League «activ» took place in Almaty on May 1st 2016. 32 teams within 9 months have been competing for the championship and the «activ» Cup of the Almaty Student Football League. The winner of the Cup and the Champion became the team from the Almaty University of Energy and Communication – «AUPET Bears».
«We are happy to support the Student Football League and attract to sports as many young people as possible. For the whole period of the project the young players demonstrated a perfect physical shape, readiness to win and a strong desire to become leaders. I would like to note that a series of final games were so exciting and entertaining, that it was not clear till the very last series of penalty who is the winner of the Championship Cup», – commented Natalya Eskova, the Head of Communications Department, Kcell JSC.
Any student team not depending on the physical preparedness and playing experience could participate in “active” Student Football League. Therefore, 32 teams from the largest universities of Almaty: KazNU, AMEC, KBTU, SDU, MUIT, Alma University, KazNTU, UIB, KazNMU, NEU, KNU – participated in the 2015-2016 season. In total there were 240 matches with 740 goals were played during the league from November to May.
As Madiyar Taubayev, the Head of the «AdamSky» Football League», noted: «The Student League of «activ» was held on the highest level, the players and their fans were very happy and were not indifferent during the whole season, as most of the students of Almaty Universities have been longing for such a large-scale project. One of the main achievements of this project, in our opinion, is unity and friendship of teams from Universities of the city, possibility for the players to spend their free time playing one of the most interesting and favorite sports. We received feedback and suggestions to arrange the Student Leagues of «activ» in Astana, Karaganda and Shymkent».
According to the organizers of the League, active participation of the student teams in this season’s games has been provided by the qualitative football fields, qualified judging and a support from the sponsor’s and partners’ side.
