About 10 million gigabytes of data were transmitted in Kcell network in April

In April Kcell and activ subscribers used 9 460 793 GB of Internet traffic. 1,8 million GB of traffic out of this number was consumed in Almaty and Astana. Herewith average data transmission speed in the mobile operator’s network was 1 800 kilobytes per second, maximum data transmission speed was 42,2 Megabit per second. The acquired data are equal to analogical international parameters.

Wide coverage and high quality communication provided by mobile phone provider across the entire territory of Kazakhstan enabled to achieve such high results. Though as is well-known there is no limit for perfection, and the company carries on activities for improving quality of network on a regular basis.

In April the company technical specialists installed 11 base stations of 2G standard and 20 stations of 3G standard accordingly in 8 regions of Kazakhstan. Works were held in such cities and towns as Aktobe, Atyrau, Aktau, Zhanaozen, as well as in villages of Almaty, Zhambyl, West Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, North Kazakhstan, Aktobe, Atyrau and Mangystau oblasts.

Beginning from the last month Kcell voice communication became available in Betkainar village of Zhambyl oblast, Beloye village of East Kazakhstan oblast with 961 people and Elitnoye village of North Kazakhstan oblast where 409 people live. At the same time Kcell internet network appeared for the first time in the “Rakushechnoye” field in Mangystau oblast, in Ulkensulutor village of Zhambyl oblast populated with 1429 residents and in Mashtakovo village near Uralsk city populated with 354 residents.

Quality of voice communication in cities of Atyrau, Aktau, Zhanaozen was improved via installation of additional 2G stations. New base stations 3G standard were installed in these cities and also in Kulsary and Aktau city.

Also voice communication and Internet connection were improved in Almaty oblast for residents of Kazybek Bi station (4 772 residents), Akterek village (3 122 residents) and workers on Kesiktobe open cast mine in Zhanatas rural county of Zhambyl oblast. The company engineers achieved improvement of cellular communication in the mentioned settlement areas due to adding extra equipment in base stations of 3G standard.

Drive test results arranged in Almaty evidence high quality of communication provided by mobile phone provider. In April the company specialists drove 1 000 kilometers throughout the largest city of the country, recording maximum speed at the level of 30.6 Megabit per second from a base station to a subscriber (Uplink) and 3.7 Megabit per second from a subscriber to a base station (Downlink).

Practically everywhere across Almaty voice from “Kcell” was at the level of 4 to 5 maximum points according to international algorithm POLQA (grade is assigned by scale from 1 to 5). According to POLQA assessment, voice shall be deemed acceptable quality if exceeds 2,7.
