129 Kazakhstanis from 35 universities of the world have developed and launched in AppStore and Google Play 55 mobile applications. The incubator to create mobile applications ‘nFactorial’ lasted 10 weeks and ended on 13 August.
On August 13, nFactorial in cooperation with activ cellular brand held the Demo Day, where the participants of the incubator presented their own applications to the expert jury and guests of the event.
The presentation was attended by the jury, composed of Anthony Espina, Chairman of the Board of “ATF Bank” JSC, Kanysh Tuleushin, Chairman of the Board of “DAMU” Fund, Ramil Muhoryapov, Founder of Chocolife.me, Alexei Lee, Co-founder of Aviata.kz, Ticketon.kz services, Stanislav Tyan, Head of Business to Business Department of Kcell JSC, Rakhat Turlyhanov, Angel Investor of IT-start-up projects and other successful representatives of Kazakhstani business.
They noted the TOP-5 most promising presented mobile applications:
- the 1st place was taken by 2 applications – Piroq, which assesses the quality of driving the vehicle with the help of neural connections, and Joode, an online manual for the study of the Arabic language;
- the 2nd place was taken by Uaqyt, a guide for the Muslims of Kazakhstan, which tells the time of praying in the form of reminders and schedules;
- the 3rd place was taken by Auyrma, a search for analogues of expensive drugs;
- the 4th place was taken by Almaty Tour, hiking and mountain tours in Almaty and the region;
- the 5th place was taken by ShakeMake, a board game in a big company in the form of “describe, draw, show”.
The rest developments are also gaining popularity, for example, Zheti Ata, an application to find the genealogy, is already in the first place for downloading in Kazakhstani AppStore, leaving What’s App and SnapChat behind.
“We are pleased to see the results of this project that really can be called successful. 129 students have created interesting applications, developed the marketing promotion and dedicated their well-deserved holidays to self-education. It should be noted that throughout the period of validity of the incubator, we were continuously supporting the participants. Arti Ots, CEO of Kcell, gave a guest lecture to the participants, on our corporate pages in social networks there were deployed in total more than 50 posts on the participants, mentors, interesting facts of the project, our leading marketers held for participants two marketing sessions on the monetization of applications. I should add that such projects motivate talented young people to create Kazakhstani innovative products, so we have tried to provide maximum support to the incubator”, – said Natalia Yeskova, Head of Communications Section of Kcell JSC.
However, the launch of 55 mobile learning, social and entertainment applications could not take place without the hard work of mentors of nFactorial.
“This year we received 700 applications for participation in the incubator, and more than 100 talented and determined participants were selected. Demo Day – is the culmination of the project, the result of the 10-week work of participants from nine o’clock in the morning till seven p.m. daily. Within the first four weeks more than 10 mentors taught them the basics of programming, design and marketing. This was followed by 6 weeks of hard work on the creation of applications. Not everyone can come through such a rate, so the participants had to strain every sinew by 200% and prove at the Demo Day that they are the future of the Kazakhstani IT”, – said Almas Tuyakbaev, Co-founder of the incubator for the creation of mobile applications ‘nFactorial’.
At the end of the event, the jury members admitted that the final of the project has surpassed their expectations. They wished the participants success and noted the important goal of the incubator – to promote the IT-community in Kazakhstan, giving the opportunity to young people to express themselves in this field and to promote own applications not only in Kazakhstan but also in the world!
Finally I want to say the project motto: “Be so good they cannot ignore you”.
