If the erroneous transport code is sent, no withdrawal from the customer’s account takes place. The e–ticket is valid only for one public transport trip.
The users of smartphones (Android and IOS) will be available to use the mobile application “SMSBUS Passenger”. This application sends and receives the SMS, and also displays the shopping receipts in the form of QR–codes, designed to automatically scanning by conductors when checking the fact of payment for the travel.
To pay for the travel, it will be required to send an SMS with the transport code to short number 2505. The leaflets contain the instructions upon travel payment through the SMS. The transport code is specified in the leaflets, glued inside the buses and trolleybuses. As proof of payment, the passenger receives a trading check in the form of the SMS, which serves as an electronic ticket for travelling. The passenger must keep an SMS with the trading check up to the end of the trip and must present it to conductors when the fact of payment for the travel is checked.
By sending an SMS–message to short number 2505, the passenger agrees to the rules of use of the service “SMSBUS”. The rules details can be found on the website http://smsbus.kz. The service is not designed for the privileged categories of citizens.
The technical solution under the brand “SMSBUS” has been developed by Kazakhstani company “ITECO” with the support of Almaty City Akimat. “WOOPPAY” LLP acted as the partner of Kcell in the implementation of this service. In the future, Kcell plans to launch a similar service for Kcell subscribers.
