The 4G/LTE commercial launch provided a transfer of record 23 million GBs in the Kcell network within two months

After the commercial launch of the 4G/LTE network, the subscribers of Kcell used more than 23 million gigabytes of data in September and October, with the trend to increase the consumption of data services in the network of the fourth generation.

The launch of the 4G/LTE network allowed Kcell and activ® subscribers to increase the data transfer rate, so the amount of the Internet traffic for two months since the date of the commercial launch of the network reached a record high. In September, the amount of the Internet traffic across Kazakhstan exceeded 11 million GBs, and in October, the consumption increased up to 12 million gigabytes.

The fourth generation of mobile communication significantly increased the speed of the mobile Internet. According to the Company, in October, the maximum speed of the Internet in the Kcell 4G/LTE network, launched in 13 cities, reached 75 Mbit/s.

“We see a huge demand of our customers for the speed and services, which can be offered by the 4G/LTE network. Over 1.4 million unique LTE-users from February to now accessed at least once the Internet through the fourth-generation network of our company. Within the three months since the commercial launch of the 4G/LTE network we have done a great job. Currently, our fourth-generation network is available in 13 cities, which covers 26% of the population of the country, and the maximum speed is 75 Mbit/s. Also, we want as many customers as possible to try the completely new communication opportunities at the 4G/LTE speeds. To this end, we have provided the opportunity to enjoy the unlimited internet in the 4G network, using the range of “Prestige”* tariff plans and the unlimited access to preview and download the music on “mobi music” and to download the books on “Bookmate”*”, – said Arti Ots, Chief Executive Officer of Kcell JSC.

The quality control of data services – remains one of the Kcell’s priorities. Therefore, the measurements of the quality of the Internet connection, as well as voice services are held throughout Kazakhstan several times a year. The measurements of the voice quality of Kcell, held in the suburbs of Almaty, Boraldai and Baganashyl, as well as in the satellite town of Talgar, showed 4.4 points out of a maximum 5 scored as per the POLQA international standard (Perceptual Objective Listening Quality Assessment – an objective assessment of the quality of the audible speech).More information about the effective term and conditions of promos can be found on www.kcell.kz and www.activ.kz
