In partnership with “Directorate for preparation and holding of the 28th World Winter Universiade in 2017 in Almaty”, Kcell will provide the high-quality mobile communication signal within sports facilities and will launch the single reference contact center.
The contact center will operate using the single number for subscribers of all mobile operators – 7117. The contact center will provide the participants and guests of the Universiade with all the necessary background information, including information on the schedule of competitions, location of sports facilities, methods of purchase of tickets, and much more on a 24-hour basis.
To provide the high-quality voice communication and the Internet services, the engineers of Kcell JSC have made the necessary measurements within all sports facilities of upcoming games. The base stations, supporting 4G/LTE have been instulled at 12 facilities, including the complex of ski jumps “Sunkar”, skiing and biathlon complex “Alatau”, and sports and entertainment complex “Tabagan”. The fourth generation network is now available in the international airport of Almaty and at the railway station “Almaty-1”. In addition, four new base stations with support of 2G/3G/4G are being installed within the ski resort “Shymbulak”, Athletic Village, stadiums “Halyk Arena” and “Almaty Arena”. The sports facilities, where the maximum flow of spectators is expected, company have prepared the additional 5 mobile stations to ensure network quality in conditions of high load. Moreover, for the athletes and foreign delegations Kcell will open a special service center in Athletic Village, which will provide convenient and comfortable service, in English language respectfully.

The 28th World Winter Universiade will be held in Almaty in the period from January 29th to February 8th. 2000 athletes from 58 countries will take part in the Universiade. It is expected that in this period the southern capital of Kazakhstan will be visited by more than 30 000 foreign guests and tourists. The competitions of Winter Universiade 2017 will be held in 12 sports at 8 sports facilities.
