According to the Law – On communication, subscribers are obliged to register own mobile devices (IMEI*) before January 01, 2019. Subscribers Kcelland Activcan send IIN for registration of mobile devices via SMSand USSD-command, without spending time on going to the company’s subscriber offices.
Most easy method – registration via SMS. Subscriber will receive SMS from short number 6006 with information about necessary registration. It is necessary to send own IIN in reply or you can independently send an SMS to the number 6006 with the IIN number. After that, the subscriber will receive a message that the information has been accepted for further registration.
Second method – dial on the phone the USSD-command *660# and the call button. Next, a field will open in which you need to enter the IIN and click the “Send” button, after which the information for registration will be accepted.
If the device is used by a child who is not yet 14 years old, the parent registers it on his/her own IIN.
If the subscriber uses a dual-sim smartphone, in which there are two SIM-cards of different mobile operators, he needs to register the device with each cellular operator. Registration via SMS with IIN to 6006 number is valid for Kcell and Activ SIM-cards. Registration of device of another operator shall be carried out according to the algorithm of registration of this operator.
“We tried to simplify the registration process for our subscribers as much as possible. Therefore, we have provided the two most simple and understandable methods for everyone to do this. Registration via SMS or USSD-command can occur anywhere where there is network coverage. Subscribers do not need to look for our offices, go there and stand in lines. We appeal to all Kcell and Activ subscribers to approach the registration of their mobile devices as responsibly as possible. Since as required by the Law – mobile operators will not have a right to provide communication services to nonregistered devices from January 01, 2019, – commented Natalya Yeskova, Head of the Communications of the Kcell JSC.

*What is IMEI?
This is an international identifier for each mobile phone and generally accepted standard for all mobile devices that is “sewn into” the phone during manufacture at the factory. This is the code of the subscriber device, which is transmitted to the operator when authorizing a phone in its network. It serves to identify the device on the network and is stored in the firmware of the device. As a rule, IMEI is indicated in four places: in the device itself (in most cases it can be displayed by dialing *#06# on the keyboard), under the battery, on the package and in the warranty card.
