The leading mobile operator in Kazakhstan, Kcell, and the National postal operator make online trading more accessible to rural population and develop new services for their customers. To this end, the head of Kcell JSC, Yuri Kharlamov and the head of Kazpost JSC, Kanat Alpysbayev have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
All projects implemented under the memorandum will be aimed primarily at meeting the needs of Kazakhstanis who live in rural areas and in regional centers.
In particular, the residents will be able to order smartphones online with the Contract Phone service of Kcell at the post offices of Kazpost in villages and in regional centers. Now, they do not need to go to the nearest cities to purchase a smartphone. The rural population will be offered convenient options for purchasing gadgets with a package of services in installments by Kcell.
The users will also be able to order goods from the Kcell online store through the Post.kz website or the Post.kz mobile application, through the activ and Kcell websites and mobile super-applications. Kazpost will deliver any online purchase. Anywhere in Kazakhstan, including remote and small villages. These types of agency and postal services will allow the national operator to provide villagers with equal access to digital products.
Kcell and Kazpost intend to introduce a new option for the users of Kcell services by the end of this year: access to funds on the Kcell/activ mobile phone balance for holders of Kazpost payment cards in the Post.kz mobile application.
Kcell CEO, Yuri Kharlamov notes:
“We strive to become even more accessible and more convenient for all residents of our country, without exception. During the difficult period of the pandemic, we paid special attention to online sales and turned out to be right, since such a service was very popular and convenient for our subscribers. Whereas previously online purchases were made mainly by the residents of large cities, now we have more and more buyers from rural areas. Thanks to the 250+ project, of which Kcell is a party, the mobile broadband internet appears in the villages of Kazakhstan with population of 250+ people, and now the villagers can use online services on equal terms with the urban residents. Moreover, thanks to our cooperation with Kazpost, the delivery of goods even to the most remote settlements of the country will become more accessible, faster and more reliable. It is very important for us that our subscribers feel comfortable, and we keep working on increasing the level of our services”.
It is worth noting that the joint project of cooperation between Kcell and Kazpost is carried out as part of the implementation of the State Program “Digital Kazakhstan” and the Digital Transformation Program of the National Welfare Fund “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC.
“Kazpost focuses on improving its services and developing the potential of e-commerce within the framework of digital transformation. This is also facilitated by the synergy of our resources with the partner. Interaction in the use of marketplaces, Fulfillment centers and postal and logistics services forms the ecosystem of seamless service. I would like to emphasize that, first of all, we focus on creating convenient conditions for the residents of villages and districts. To this end, now we are actively working on the creation of “Showcase of Marketplaces” on our website and in mobile application, where the residents of the most remote villages will be able to choose the necessary goods and order their delivery,” the Chairman of the Management Board of Kazpost JSC, Kanat Alpysbayev says.
