August 31, 2021, Almaty. Mobile operator Kcell, Jusan Bank and the international payment system Mastercard announced today the launch of a unique joint project named ‘OGO banking products in the Kcell and activ mobile applications’: digital co-branded payment card ‘OGO Card’, ‘OGO Deposit’ and in the very near future – ‘OGO Loan’. The project aims to provide the mobile network subscribers with an opportunity to get convenient and timely access to the services provided by Jusan Bank.
This is a first-of-a-kind project in the post-Soviet space, as it combines a number of the cutting-edge innovations and advantages of the fintech industry, the telecom and the banking sector for its users: availability of products in a mobile application (SuperApp), instant remote opening of a full-fledged debit card with IBAN that can be topped up commission free from the user’s prepaid cell phone balance, as well as rewards for non-cash payments up to 10% of the payment amount.
With the OGO Card digital card, our customers will be able to make payments conveniently anywhere around the world, including contactless payments and the ApplePay or SamsungPay services. The cardholders will also have access to all the privileges that the international payment system Mastercard provides to its customers, such as promotions and special offers from partner companies.
Thanks to quick access to the Bank’s services, the OGO cardholders will be able to conveniently make payments and transfers, as well as open an OGO Deposit and get an OGO loan from the Bank. As part of the OGO Bonus program, customers will be able to earn bonuses for opening and using the Bank’s products which can be used for in-app payments. Customers can be shared their bonuses with other Kcell and activ subscribers, as well as transfer those to their cell phone balance to pay for mobile services.
Bonuses are awarded for payments made with the OGO Card, as well as for opening, activating and using the OGO Deposit and OGO Loan products. For each such operation user will receive OGO bonuses, where 1 OGO Bonus is equivalent to 1 tenge. OGO Bonuses are credited to the bonus account opened by the user in the Kcell and activ mobile applications. OGO Bonuses are not funds on the subscriber’s mobile account.
To join the project, you need to select a product in the OGO section of the Kcell/activ mobile application, pass through the remote biometric identification process and open an OGO card.
To get appropriate access and use these banking products – OGO Card, OGO Deposit and OGO Credit – as well as make payments from your prepaid balance, you must be a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an individual who is a prepaid Kcell or activ subscriber and has their mobile number registered in their name.
